Simple Tagger is a simple Cocoa-application for tagging and renaming mp3-files based on the information from the amazon music database. By now, I kept the functional range to the absolut minimum. If requested, more funtions may follow in a future version.

- Search for interpret and album on amazon.de, amazon.co.uk und amazon.com
- Presents a result list for selecting the right entry
- Generate entries manually
- Change the cover
- Manual adjustment for the selected music information inlcuding tracks, title and more
- Drag and Drop for the target files
- Automatic tagging of the dropped files based on the selected informationen
- Rename the mp3-files based on the giving tags
- Drop existing tags
- Automatic update for new versions

VERY nice. exactly what i was looking for. most tagging software for mac integrates with itunes which is not what i want. Thanks for making this and keeping it FREE!
Thank you very much for this app! I’ve been looking for an application for the Mac which does the same thing as Tag&Rename for Windows. You’re not quite there yet but it looks really promising. Great job! I would love to see Simple Tagger make use of FreeDB.org for easy tagging of the more obscure albums. Another tip is to accept donations via PayPal. I’d happily make a donation once Simple Tagger keeps me from booting Windows to use the only program I miss on the Mac. Danke!

Hi!!! I used a few months ago and it was working gret. It’s a fantastic app! But now, as Stefan said, the search function it’s not working! Why is this happening?

This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for (I’ve been looking for over a year).
I’ve wanted a replacement for Tag & Rename (Windows program) for OS X, just because of Tag & Rename’s ability to look up track information from Amazon.com.
One suggestion I could make is for the ability to delete tracks in the left column (source track list) if you do not have the complete CD on the right column (destination files). This would make matching the columns up a little bit easier.

i’m confused, i got an update message about version 1.3, but then there’s no news here since forever and macupdate hasn’t got it either. is someone else develloping this now? help!
